FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • You are in experienced and capable hands. I will guide your choice by asking many questions, including the value of the work and where it will be displayed and will take my time to achieve this.

  • The standard lead time is 2-3 weeks. This allows for delivery of materials that are specially ordered in for your frame. Large and unusual items can take longer and at busy times of the year such as Christmas it is best to allow up to 4 weeks. However, if you are in a hurry, let me know and I'll do our best to help you meet your deadline.

  • This is a tricky question as every frame that I make is completely individual, so the price is dependent on the choice of frame moulding, mountboard and glass and it depends on how big and precious the artwork is. However, I aim to adapt the framing to suit a particular budget. I have a pricing model that gives me consistent pricing and takes these things into account. Consultations are free and with no obligation. Book an appointment and come along to see what I can do for you. If you've chosen an ornate gold frame, a triple mount and low-reflection, UV protective glass then you will expect to pay for the premium products. But if you want a more simple black wood frame with a small single mount and standard glass, you may be surprised by what good value you can achieve with a bespoke frame.

  • Yes, I am very happy to replace broken glass or frame for you. I will need to check the frame it is going in to make sure it is robust enough to take the new glass. For a frame I will assess any damage to devise the most practical and cost effective plan for repair/ restoration/ re frame.

  • If you choose to display your artwork it is essential that you are sure that it is going to be protected from harmful elements. You need to feel secure in the fact that your enjoyment in the piece will not harm it in any way.  Conservation Level Framing protects against: ∙ Mould ∙ Insects ∙ Heat and humidity ∙ Light and UV rays ∙ Air pollution ∙ Improper handling ∙ Transit damage ∙ Damage prior to framing and during the framing process
